Re COVID-19: The 11:00 am appointment is reserved for high-risk and/or Kupuna.
I am open only 2 days a week during this crisis as it gives time for anything lingering in the office to die off by the time the next 11:00 am appointment arrives.
Masks are required (not when lying face down). If you have a medical excuse to not be vaccinated, that is ok, please let me know asap, and take extra cautions (ie get tested). If you just don't want to get vaccinated, you must provide a negative test result taken the same day as your appointment. There are places to get a rapid test done for free. Please wear a kn95 or n95 mask (or blue procedure mask) as the cloth masks do not offer enough protection and there are plenty medical grade masks now available to the public.
There is an air purifier running 24/7 in the treatment rooms. Linen is changed between each treatment (and washed in Lysol laundry sanitizer). Please wear loose fitting clothing. If you have any other concerns please feel free to address them with me and we will figure out the best way to protect you. Mahalo!
We have to stop this madness.
Traditional Chinese Medicine has been around for THOUSANDS of years!
IAcupuncture and Chinese Medicine is a safe and effective form of health care, it gets to the root of the problem, and resolves other problems along the way! Good health depends on normal flow of blood, body fluid and energy (qi – force that moves things and holds everything together). When qi, blood and/or body fluid becomes stagnant it will lead to a disruption in the flow of energy and fluids which will affect the surrounding tissues and eventually affect the organs.
Commonly heard phrases:
"I've seen everyone, had all the tests done, and no one can find what's wrong with me"
"I should have come see you first..."
"My whole family got sick, but I didn't!"
"Even my co-workers have noticed a difference!"
"After 30 years of stomach problems, they went away"
"I have more energy, I sleep better, and I didn't even come in for that!"
The placement of acupuncture needles, which are very fine and relatively painless, affect the qi of the body by either bringing energy to the area or removing excess energy from the area. Herbal formulas enhance most acupuncture treatments and in some cases are highly effective on their own.
Regular acupuncture treatments (once a month, or every other month, even a couple times a year, for example) are vital to prevention of disease and expedite healing. If your energy is flowing smoothly, your body is working at optimal levels and no disease can occur. There is an old saying: “The inferior Doctor treats the sickness. The good Doctor treats the person and the sickness. The superior Doctor prevents sickness.”
Depending on the condition being treated, you can feel relief immediately or in just a few sessions. Chronic cases will tend to take more time. In either acute or chronic cases, acupuncture will help ease you through whatever healing crisis you are facing.
There are very important things to know about deciding to go the Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture route. MOST IMPORTANTLY, in the State of Hawaii, practitioners are NOT required to hold malpractice insurance. (The chances of getting hurt are minimal, our malpractice is less than $1000 a year -compared to the $100,000s western medical doctors pay....yikes!) Also, licensing in the state of Hawaii does NOT require Continuing Education Units to renew a license. This means the acupuncturist does not need to learn anything new, or review their craft - most professional occupations require continuing education. See FAQ's for more information. I am nationally certified-I do continuing education, and insured)
